A man has been stabbed at a busy shopping in Melbourne, just a week after the horror Westfield Bondi Junction massacre in Sydney. The young man was stabbed in front of horrified shoppers outside Seoul Garden Korean BBQ Buffet at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne's west on Sunday. It is understood one man pulled a knife on another about 2.30pm and stabbed him in the upper body. He was transported to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The man is receiving treatment for the stab wound. The attacker, who fled the scene, is still on the run. Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia that two men were involved in a physical altercation inside a restaurant on Rosamond Road. The shopping centre was not locked down and it is believed that there is no ongoing threat to the community. Seoul Garden Korean BBQ Buffet has also continued to operate following the incident. Anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact police immediately The horror incident comes a week after Joel Cauchi, 40, stabbed five women and one man to death with a 30cm hunting knife in a killing spree on April 13 at Westfield Bondi Junction. The six victims who were killed were Yixuan Cheng, Ashlee Good, Pikria Darchia, Jade Young, Dawn Singleton and Faraz Tahir. The ordeal only came to an end when brave female cop Amy Scott shot Cauchi dead after telling him to drop the knife. |
